EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
        W###-TV 43, a Low Power Television (LPTV) station, licensed to Anytown, Iowahio is being offered for sale by A Newspaper Company, a company which owns several small newspapers. The station’s primary coverage area includes the cities of Anytown and Closetown, Iowahio and Nearbyville, Texachusetts. The station currently reaches some 80,000 television households, or approximately 200,000 people. It is not affiliated with any network, and currently programs a mixture of local news, movies and syndicated programming.
        The station has been on the air since 19XX, and during that time has operated primarily as an adjunct service of the newspaper for the local community. W### was one of the first LPTV stations to be licensed, and it has been recognized within the television industry for its community involvement and commitment to local programming.
        The station reported gross revenue of $826,000 for the fiscal year that ended September 30, 1999. The station’s financial records indicate that it been losing approximately $230,000 a year for the past two fiscal years, with the loss being absorbed by the parent company. By the company’s own admission, these losses are due in large part to the fact that no one in the organization had any expertise in operating broadcast properties.
        Historically, the owners were willing to operate the station at a loss because they felt it was an important part of the newspaper’s community service commitment. In 1999, the company’s focus began to shift toward expanding its newspaper holdings and away from ownership of of the television property, and the station was put up for sale.
