When it filled a 200 acre industrial park in just three years, Anytown was named one of the new U.S. manufacturing "hot spots" by Industry Week magazine. Once regarded as primarily a bedroom community for the Closetown, Anytown has developed as an industrial center, with its manufacturing employment increasing 24% since 1991. Anytown Community College, operated by the University of Iowahio, is located here.
Texachusetts' fifth largest city, Nearbyville has experienced a 15% growth rate in the past five years. It has developed as a regional center for shopping, health care, entertainment and culture. Several major industries, and State University are also located here.
Builder magazine recently rated the Anytown MSA as the 17th "hottest" housing market in the country. Reader’s Digest included it on its list of the "Top Fifty Places To Raise A Family". Entrepreneur magazine rated it 2nd on its list of the 25 best small cities in which to own a business. American Demographics magazine projects per capita income in the MSA will increase 18.9% between 1994 and 2005, and 34.4% by 2015.
A healthy, growing local economy and robust population growth bode well for the future success of the television station licensed to serve these communities.
